A leading platform that allows users to sign and manage contracts electronically, DocuSign has received a ‘Protected’ assessment for DocuSign eSignature under the Australian Information Security Registered Assessors Program (IRAP).
IRAP and evaluations conducted under the program help government agencies determine whether a company’s system has sufficient controls to process, store and transmit government data according to the requirements set out in the Australian Government’s Information Security Manual (ISM).
Completing this ‘Protected’ review means that DocuSign eSignature has been evaluated against a comprehensive list of over 800 security controls, giving government agencies the ability to assess its security and its capabilities to meet their requirements to ensure critical data is protected.
DocuSign has also established a dedicated Public Sector business development team, headed up by Nick Slater, Regional Vice President of the Public Sector. Slater noted that as the government agencies and related industries continue to digitise their services to meet the needs of the public, the company will continue to support them, not just with DocuSign eSignature, but also the broader DocuSign Agreement Cloud.

Across Australia and New Zealand, many public sector organisations already use DocuSign eSignature to secure agreements. The completion of this ‘Protected’ assessment will enable government agencies to use eSignature with their sensitive documents and data, managing both ‘Official’-level and ‘Protected’-level data in one place.
