NSW Government Invests Over $1.3 Million To Develop New Marine Rescue Center

The NSW government in Australia invested more than $1.3 million to develop a new high-tech communications center for Marine Rescue NSW(MRNSW). It will help boost the operational capacity of the Belrose facility.

The center will be a significant 24/7 communication hub that will monitor marine radio for distress calls from boaters in distress in the water and coordinate with rapid rescue response. This new communication center will help the MRNSW get volunteers and additional support for incident responses along the coastline.

Police and Emergency Services Minister David Elliott said he cannot thank the volunteers enough. They are the backbone of the service and can now operate from a brand-new facility, replacing the small room in Terry Hills from where they operated for over decades.
