Abu Dhabi to Issue Digital Birth Certificates from Today

The Department of Health, Abu Dhabi (DoH) has announced that digital birth certificates for newborns can now be issued through TAMM, the Abu Dhabi government services platform. The new digital system is effective from 30th December 2021 and applies to newborns across the Emirates.

Following childbirth, the parents will receive a notification from the healthcare facility before receiving the details for registration and login procedures. They will then have to upload the required documents and pay the necessary fees to receive the digital copy of the newborn's birth certificate. Newborn birth certificates should be issued within 30 days from the date of birth.

In addition, individuals seeking to issue additional certificates for previous birth dates issued from any of the emirates hospitals can also use this service. Earlier birth certificates were issued through dedicated offices located in Abu Dhabi across multiple healthcare facilities and required the presence of parents or legal guardians to process the necessary documents.

Mohamed Abdelhameed Al Askar, Director-General of Abu Dhabi Digital Authority said, this new digital service supports the digital transformation efforts in the emirate of Abu Dhabi, combining over 700 government services that can be accomplished digitally through the TAMM platform.
