The Ministry of Information and Communication (MIC) reported that 64,000 digital technology companies in Vietnam employ over a million employees after about 5,600 new technology companies were established in 2021. These companies played a significant role in building e-Government and National Digital Platforms.
Nguyen Thanh Tuyen, Deputy Director of the Information Technology Department under the MIC, said the pandemic accelerated the digital transformation in the country, with many digital enterprises shifting from doing contracted work for foreign brands to developing Industry 4.0 products.
Last year, Vietnam’s Ministry of Planning and Investment launched a digital transformation program designed to help companies speed up their digital transformation and incentivize them to digitize their business, production activities, and administration from 2021 to 2025.
This program aims to improve the digital transformation of all participating production facilities by 2025, with approximately 500,000 of them receiving assistance from programs like consultancy, training, and access to digital solutions.
