The Australian government is offering grants for Artificial Intelligence (AI) projects that will benefit the regional businesses, industries, and communities under the ‘Catalysing the AI Opportunity in Our Regions’ program.
The Catalysing the AI Opportunity in Our Regions program is a part of the $124.1 million investment under the AI action plan. This program will provide competitive grant funding over three rounds, where the first one will offer grants between $250,000 and $500,000. The applications for this round will close on 21st February 2022. The applicants need to submit a joint application with at least one partner organization located in the regional areas.
The program aims to grow trust in AI technology, show how AI can boost regional capabilities, and create a pathway for high-skilled jobs in regional Australia. The Catalysing the AI Opportunity in Our Regions program plans to support AI projects that develop, implement and demonstrate innovative AI solutions and provide opportunities for regional businesses to test and experiment with AI.
