Governor Godwin Obaseki of Edo, on 12th November 2021 at the opening ceremony of the 2021 Alaghodaro Summit announced that his administration would launch its e-governance platform before the end of this year. Edo is one of the 36 states of Nigeria, located in the southern region of the country.
According to Mr Obaseki, he will be the last governor to work on manual files in the state and Edo will run on an e-platform this year. He also said that health care is their primary focus and he wants to have one standard primary health care center in each ward in Edo with well-trained staff and technology.
There will be about 10,000 software engineers graduating in the next five years and their training has already begun. He said that in the last three years there has been a transformation in their learning that has given them the confidence and preparation needed for the future. He is sure that with the help of the youth they will be able to transform the state.
The government has also trained over 32,000 individuals in various Information Communication Technology and they have set up two job centres through which they have trained more than 23,000 individuals through skills and acquisitions.
