His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Mubarak Al Khalifa, the Deputy Prime Minister and Chairman of the Supreme Committee for Information and Communication Technology, announced the winners of the prestigious Bahrain E-government Excellence Award for the year 2021. Ministers of Bahrain and senior IT personnel in public and private sectors graced the event organised by the Information and eGovernment Authority (iGA).
HH Shaikh Mohammed said 2021 (the 11th year since the award ceremony first started) was the most difficult because of the onslaught of the pandemic. But the spirit of entrepreneurship and quest for excellence among both the public and private entities in Bahrain ensured Bahrain’s development process.
The Ministry of Interior bagged the ‘Best Integrated Services for Individuals or Businesses,’ for its Geographic Security System in Main Control Room in the public sector category. Ministry of Works, Municipalities Affairs, and Urban Planning’s Internal Follow Up System won the Best G2G e-Service category award.
Three entities shared the award for the ‘Best Practice in Community eParticipation’ category. The Ministry of Works, Municipality Affairs and Urban Planning won the prize for its Works affairs in Social Media Channels, The Ministry of Interior (Southern Governorate) for its Virtual Majlis project and the Ministry of Interior’s Customs Affairs for its overall community participation activities.
The Award for the Best Website went to the official Ministry of Health website, www.moh.gov.bh. Award for the Best Application for Smart Devices went to the Ministry of Youth and Sports Affairs for eShabab.
Bahrain Institute of Banking and Finance (BIBF) won the award for the Best e-Service winners in the private sector for its MyClass service and Bahrain Airport Services(BAS) for its Shaheen service.
The BENEFIT company won the award for the Best Application for Smart Devices for its BenefitPay.
In the ‘Best E-Concept’ category for individuals: Shaima Almeer and Fatema Murad won the award for their Boulevard 360 degree project, Abdulazziz Almoawda won the award for his Litigants Chatbot, and Shaikha Muneera bint Mohammed Al Khalifa for Gov4Good.
Yasser Abduljalil Ali AlSharifi and Mohamed Abdulrazaq Al-Mahmoud won the eCitizen award given to two Bahrain citizens for their extensive use of government e-services and for having made the highest transaction through the electronic payment services in the last year.
HH Shaikh Mohammed congratulated the winners for their outstanding contributions and dedication.
