The nonprofit organization, the Cybersecurity Association of Maryland, Inc. (CAMI), the US, on 9th February 2022, has announced plans to expand its membership program and create multiple Centers of Excellence. In their statement, the organization announced that it would be expanding its membership qualifications to companies across all verticals that view cybersecurity as a strategic initiative.
In creating three new Centers of Excellence, CAMI aims to provide a forum through which citizens can share best security practices. It aims to advance cybersecurity in the State through collaboration and advocacy.
The first center will be focused on innovation and business growth, and it will support members with scaling operations, raising capital, marketing, and mentorship.
The second center will be dedicated to working with organizations to close the cybersecurity talent gap by offering support to help organizations create on-the-job opportunities, align their training programs with industry needs and develop new and more ethnically diverse talent pools.
The third center will be specialized in cyber resilience, providing knowledge and resources to members, including support with Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certifications, securing state, local and educational agencies, and offering cyber-hygiene help to small and medium-sized businesses.
By creating opportunities for companies in all industries to come together, the organization hopes to foster increased cooperation in cybersecurity.
