Nebraska State Patrol officers last year found two blown tires on a truck that was ordered into a weigh station after road sensors on Interstate 80 detected a problem. Some states are using road sensors to identify trucks with unsafe tires.
Idemia will provide the technology and support to Indiana State Police and other agencies. The contract includes fingerprint biometric data capturing and the backend system to process the prints and support.
